The Hifz Madrasah was started in 2001 with just three students. Various teachers used to teach these students in different places in the Jamaica area. After hiring Hafiz Rafiqul Islam in March of 2001, JMC’s President, Dr. Mohammad Motasim Billah, gave a verbal permission to run this Madrasah as a pilot project of Jamaica Muslim Center. JMC Imam, Moulana Mirza Abu Jafar Beg proposed before the Executive Committee and the members present to take this pilot project as the project of JMC. According to that proposal, in 2003, JMC’s Executive Committee took the Hifz Madrasah as JMC’s own project. In 2004, the Hifz Madrasah’s name was officially changed to Jamiah Qur’ania Academy. Since then, JQA has grown to offer many full-time programs:
Jamiah Qurania Academy aims to lead students to inherit the legacy of our Prophet SAW. Through our courses, we hope to produce future scholars and leaders who will be the bedrock of our societies.
JQA strives to revive Islamic thought and universal values by developing an institution that nurtures future scholars and leaders deeply rooted in Islamic knowledge and tradition.
